Having spent over twelve years in both retail and visual management roles, I decided to return to my more creative roots by enrolling in a design course at Cordwainer's College, London.
Years spent in the fashion industry had fuelled a passion for accessories, but also a frustration - I wanted something unique, something different, so I decided to start my own company doing just that - designing and making uniquely different handbags.
The fact is, I don't really give a fig for today's trends! I much prefer to follow my own rules, and truly believe that one ought to distinguish oneself from others, after all - why should we all
look the same?
I feel so passionately in exclusivity, and know many of you will feel that way too.
Much of my work is inspired by period costume. I adore the fashionable elegance of a bygone era, and many of the details found on Victorian and Edwardian clothing are echoed in my work.
I also love to work with antique trimmings; they hold such a delightful quality and beauty, which is so sadly lacking in their modern day replacements. It is also such fun finding these things, as you never know quite what you will unearth.
Little details are so important, a rare and precious glass button, a beautiful piece of lace, but above all, I believe good old-fashioned quality, individuality and a touch of magic should always reign.
